Gobble Gobble & Happy Thanksgiving!

November was a busy month but a good one. We got to celebrate Thanksgiving here in Texas this year. It was smaller than usual but very nice to spend time with extended family for sure!
Aiden and Alina are doing great, they love to play together now...for the most part, there is the occasional fight over a toy or book or whatever may be the hot item for the moment. We have been blessed with two wonderful children that we truly love and adore!!!

Happy Halloween

October was a fun month, the kids got to go to a Carnival at Aunt Sissy's School, Aiden also had his Fall Festival at Preschool and on Halloween they got to Trick or Treat with their Texas cousins. I have to say that the boys were a little scared of all the costumes but Alina loved it!

Alina's first birthday!!!!

September brought us our little girl's first birthday, we can't believe how fast this past year flew by! Alina had a Ladybug birthday party with her family and friends. She seemed to enjoy the party for the most part...when it came to digging into her cake she got scared of what we think was the birthday candle and started screaming, refusing to eat the cake. After several minutes of holding her and trying to calm her down I got her to eat some of her cake but she would only eat it if I was feeding it to her. There was no messing birthday girl this time, she was NOT having it! Thank you to everyone for celebrating our baby girl's birthday with us and for all of the wonderful thoughts and gifts!

Making memories...

August started out exciting with another trip planned up north to visit the Brown side of the family. Two days before we were scheduled to leave we got a very sad phone call telling us that Danny's Mammy had passed. We expected that trip to be our last visit with her, but never thought she would go before we got there. Needless to say, the start of our trip was heartbreaking.

Keith and Heather (brother & sis-in-law) had a great idea to visit Mammy and Granddad's cottage in Port Hope, MI on Lake Huron where we got to talk about fun times with Mammy and just had a blast and made new memories! Granddad even came up and joined us for a couple of days, I think it was a much needed visit for us all. We look forward to many more trips up to the cottage in the future.

June & July 2009 update

As you can see we've had another wild and crazy month...We got to take a vacation with my side of the family at the end of June into the first part of July. We all drove in a caravan over to Destin, FL and stayed a week. It was tons of fun and we made memories we'll never forget! We were so blessed to get to vacation with both sides of our family this year, being with family makes it more special.
Aiden is a typical 3 year old these days. We are learning that 3 is not as pleasant as 2 was! He is still a great kid, got to give him that. He is still obsessed with his super heroes and keeps us laughing on a daily basis. He adores his little sister more and more everyday.
Alina is changing so much everyday. She loves to play peek-a-boo now, although I have to say that usually one hand is over her face with the other on top of her head...it's too cute to watch. She is getting such a cute personality, I love it! She is starting to try to stand without holding on...she'll use something to pull herself up and then let go and try to balance on her own. She doesn't have great balance so it doesn't last long but it is a good start to the next step. We recently had to take the bumper out of her crib due to her using it to climb. She actually fell completely out of the crib onto the floor. Like I said, so much so fast!
Danny and I are doing great. I recently went back to work, not really what we wanted but it is what we needed. I had just started looking and got a phone call from a staffing company looking for someone with my qualifications to fill a part-time position at a small CPA firm. It just kind of fell in my lap and has thus far as been a true blessing for us. It took Aiden some time to get adjusted to me being gone several hours a day and in some ways he is still adjusting. I have to make sure to give him special time and attention when I am home. Alina has adjusted with no problems.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the photos from this past month. You can view them all by clicking on the link below:

Alina is 9 months old!

We seriously don't know where the time goes! Our "babies" are growing up too fast, sometimes I just wish we could freeze time or even slow down and enjoy them more. This month Alina started crawling, she is now also pulling herself up and cruising around furniture and today has started using her walker to get around a little... she has been one busy girl!

Aiden's 3rd Birthday!

Aiden turned three this month, he is such a big boy now! He didn't really seem to be into the whole birthday party idea so we just celebrated a little here and there. He got to celebrate for about a week. His Grandparents from Ohio came down to play for his birthday, then he got to celebrate with his Grandparents here and his Aunts, Uncles and cousins. A few of his friends stopped by to see him and wish him a Happy Birthday as well. He enjoyed getting to blow out his candles... his favorite part of his birthday.

A few May pics...

Alina is 8 months old! Time to slow things down a bit....

A few April pics....

April & May update

These past couple of months have been super busy, which seems to be the normal around here these days! April was filled with the best of times with the Brown side of the family. We were blessed enough to get to take a wonderful beach vacation with them, we met in North Carolina Easter weekend and stayed in the most amazing house right on the beach....oh to be back there now! Aiden & Alina got to have some serious playtime with the cousins and the adults got to catch up, play games, throw back a few cold ones and hang out on the beach. It was one of the best weeks we've had! The trip ended with Alina turning 7 months old, boy is she growing up fast!
Although our trip was amazing and filled with happy times but, we returned to a sad home. We got home to find Katy, our oldest cat had passed away. It was unexpected, but the Vet seems to think that he went quickly and did not suffer much if at all. Katy will be missed to much.

May has been filled with happiness, with the warmer days here and the flowers blooming and summer in the air....many more good times to come and great memories to be made.

I apologize for being so late with our updates, but like I said...busy, busy, busy! There are A LOT of pictures this time due to me having to play catch up and including two months of pictures...Sorry! The link is below:

Alina is 6 months old!

We had a little fun with the camera today...

What a busy month it has been! Time just keeps flying by and our babies are growing up way too fast. This month Aiden has come very close to mastering the potty training with only having had a few accidents...we are VERY excited about this accomplishment and are so proud of him for doing so well. Alina is getting bigger everyday, this month she started the baby talk and it is too cute! She loves getting down on the floor and playing with her brother...and her toys, she even seems to have a couple of favorites. Danny and I are doing great, we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary this month...a nice dinner out with no kids!

Alina is 5 months old!

A few of my favorite pictures this past month of Aiden and Alina...

This was another busy month! Thank god we are all well and finally got rid of whatever it was we were all passing around here. We had visitors this month, Danny's parents came for a nice visit which gave us a break from the day to day routine. It's always nice to change things up a little.

Aiden had his first injury this month, he pulled his groin and couldn't...or should I say wouldn't walk for over two weeks. You could tell he was in a lot of pain when it first happened and several days following. After the first week or so the fear of moving it and feeling the pain again slowed him down, he is finally up and walking again...just very slowly! He is potty trained now, hasn't had an accident in quite sometime. He has even had a dry run at night time this past week with only one wet night! Very exciting.

Alina is 5 months old now, she is growing like a weed! She is a very happy girl, smiles and talks all the time. She loves getting special attention and will talk to you forever. We started giving her cereal this month, not much...just a little in the evenings to see if we could get her to sleep a little longer in between her night time feedings. Mommy was getting exhausted after a week of her waking up every couple of hours to eat! The cereal does seem to help so Mommy is feeling more rested and that makes for better days around here.

We hope you enjoy the photos!

Dec08/Jan09

Some of my favorites of the kiddos this month. Aiden Lee and Alina Rae....what a pair!
This past month was another busy one. On top of the holiday craziness the kids have taken turns being sick and at some times have been sick at the same time. I don't think we've had more than two days in a row without one of them being sick. I am hoping that whatever it is that they keep passing back and forth goes away and stays away!
Aiden has been a very big boy lately...he started using the potty! We had a rough few days in the beginning then it was like he just got it. He has no problem going pee-pee on the potty but still hasn't mastered the other... We are still working on that one. It's nice to have him in big boy underwear and go all day without an accident! We are very proud of him and you can tell he is proud of himself.
Alina keeps growing and growing! She is very aware of what is going on around her and wants to see it and be a part of it all. She is VERY vocal these days, it's so cute to hear her go on and on. Alina is getting really active. She did roll over once in her crib, she hasn't done it again since but she tries very hard and we know it will happen again soon. No rush, she is already growing up too fast!
Danny and I are doing great, we are just one very blessed and happy family!
